LIZ SAYS: Paris has fun things for everyone who is 'stuck' in the city during the July-August vacation dessication of the city. The city withers up in the summer sun and everyone escapes to any and every beach for 3 days to 3 weeks.
Of course, I'm loving it and don't feel stuck but, it is very strange to see the about one third of the shops shuttered and the cafes closed with the chairs stacked inside.
But, hey, when is it a better time to ride a ferris wheel and look down at the beauty of the city. Being just a tad afraid of heights the ferris wheel ride was tense at the beginning, but Dick talked me down into calmness, and I did actually enjoy several go 'rounds. Paris is a really a beautiful look down.
