Below is the ceiling, barrel shaped, but look at the cross beams, don't they remind you of the Tibetan designs on the temple in Madison?

Yes, I already made the joke about being from Beaune, would that make you a Beauner.
Beaune is famous for its hospice. It has a roof that was typical of the reqion. Beaune is near Dijon, the whole area is know for its wine and yes, mustard, with very good reason! Yesterday I had a soft cheese coated with cracked mustard seeds that was absolutely stunning! We went to
Beaune yesterday, today Dick has gone to a car race. So, that leaves me time to catch up.
But, oh yeah, the hospice. It's an interesting idea. They initially gave salt and grapevines to the poor,so they could take care of themselves and perhaps prosper. Then they took care of them when they were about to die, sort of escorting them to heaven. Making their last days comfortable. They were clearly well cared for, the inside of the place was like a factory for human care. The building is remarkable, the roof is made of shiny tiles that are held on by little hooks. It is beautiful in the sunlight.
