a Bit of Burgundy
These are the giant white cow (like the giant white goats with bangs) that seem to be common in France.
i found out that these are actrually dove/pigeon nests. I don't know whether they are parasitic growths that the doves use or whether they are nests but they look like pompoms in the trees.
this is the abbey that was closed but it looked great from the adjacent road with its reddened ivy.
this was the entrance to Gilly. If you are interested in staying in the area, this is clearly the place to go!
