Green Champs

We have moved in! We are still waiting most days for workmen to finish the odds and ends and there are quite a few. But, we are in. Under the heading of no rest for the wicked, we have to apply for our second Title de Sejour, permit to live in France in a few days. The first time we applied it was very scary, even though everyone assured me that we would have no problem. If I wasn't so tired of workmen and cleaning up after them, I'd be nervous now. Thank goodness for small favors.
But enough complaining, after all, its turning into a lovely apartment in my favorite city!
Green was the word a week ago, when they decked out the Champs Elysee in plants and greenery. It was really charming and clever.
One of the busiest streets in Paris blocked off and huge planters brought in and planted with crops and flowers for 2 days. It was a phenomenal feat. The street was packed with people early in the morning. Still, I did get some pictures.
The top photo is part of an installation on the upper floor of the Pompidou Center. As you can see, the birds love it!

More about the apartment later, the internet here is still unreliable. My computer just crashed. France Telecom is supposed to come tomorrow, but then they have said that for the last 3 Wednesdays. Oulala... .
