LIZ SAYS: And then there is the actual art in the Pompidou. Right now its 'The Paris Delhi Bombay Exhibit'. A colorful, if not entirely satisfying blend of India and France. Personally, I loved the exuberant colors of not only the art but the exhibition space. There was lots of video, most of it in black and white, some of it a little rough. I passed one room just as the voice on the video was talking of sexual abuse. Oddly enough, that vid did not come with the warning! For me, the best piece was a room in Bombay with a view. The view was a video street scene, juxtaposed to the actual window of the Pompidou. Perfect synthesis of Paris and Bombay. My other favorite was called ‘You, too, can touch the Moon’, It was a large photo with a woman, her child in her lap, pointing at the moon. Ah, such inspirational beauty.
