Cool With It

LIZSAYS: Riding to Citroen Parc meant we had to go into areas of Paris, arrondisments, that we had never really been through. A lot is made in Paris about the arrodisment. People try to put it into snitty phrases, that describe at best some bit of history or place of some sort of activity. The Left Bank, Right Bank bit comes from this kind of thinking. Well, we stopped for a couple of cokes at a very quiet bistro in the 15th (arrondisment). The place was just the first corner where we could park our bikes. The 20ish guy watching some screen in the very small interior of the place was hanging halfway out the door. He gave us our cokes and water, he put on his moto helmet asked us to pay the bill and said, “You can stay here as long as you want, just leave the glasses under the table when you finish.” He locked the door, mounted his Vespa and split. We sat for a few extra minutes ‘cause he was cool with it.
