LIZ SAYS: One of the great things about Amsterdam is the waterbirds. Herons are almost as common as cardinals in Wisconsin. The big elegant birds are not as people shy as the ones in Madison.
We were walking in Vondel Park when and I noticed one of the beauties, just a few feet away, standing in the water.
