Day 2 of the Saga Carte de Sojour

The bird cages are coming Monday, I have to pay an extra fee to get them up the stairs, but I don't know what else to do, they weigh something like 50 or 80 kilos, the delivery place is going to call me back with the extra charge, c'est la vie.
Most of our blue Kartell cabinets are here. I found them stacked blocking the door to the apartment, so I had to move them just to get in. Unpacking is becoming a task because I don't know what to do with all the packing materials.
Now back to your papers, Madame.
The running around this morning was to no avail. I went to the consulate, the guard at the gate would not let me in without a appointment and said to check the website for the translators. They are open 2 hours a day and they send you back home to check the web. The strange thing is I can't figure out from the web page whether it is referring to people who want American Visas or Americans who want French Visas. How odd that it should be confusing, right?
I am waiting for the Fixer to call with a solution & missing proper lunch time. He is having phone problems, so much for the iPhone. I want a local service so the calls will be cheaper, and I so wanted an iPhone for the data and fun. But, that is so far in the future at the moment, it seems like yet another life.

Everyone gives me the wrong information about everything. It would be funny if it wasn't so tiring.

I finally realized that everyone was pointing me towards Printemps because they thought that is what I was saying when I asked for le Pantheon. Don't even ask. I walked around for two and a half hours, wondering why I kept ending up at Printemps and missing the Pantheon. Finally, I wrote it down and asked a taxi driver who took me across the bridge where I belonged!
The official translators list is at the Mairie Civil something near the Pantheon. It cannot be a handout, it is a notebook with plastic covered sheets. I copied down 7 numbers, all but one would not answer the phone. The one that did answer, could not do the translation until next Friday and would not do it until I have a valid extension, something that does not exist.

So, I guess another cup of tea, while I wait.

It is a cool/cold (45-55 degree) sunny day. Lovely, no rain, but I am stuck in the apartment with big boxes. If I empty them, I don't know where to put them, but then we will have our blue Kartell cabinets. Storage will be nice.
Adventure of a sort, running round in circles, tossing 'round boxes, Paris is a circular city.
Have a great morning and know that except for the weather, frustrations are no less here.
