SLOW MOTION DANCING
LIZ SAYS: It did stop raining so we found a bistro across the street from the Bastille Opera Center and watched the slow motion films of dncers from many disciplines spin and point in slow motion. It was lovely, although most people did not seem to notice it. It is on a very busy street with the Bastille monumental column in a circle where the streets meet.
The juxtaposition of the large sinewy dancers on thin white screens moving ever so slowly and the lively hard traffic, lights, cars and pedestrians on their cell phones was really sharp and fascinating. And, as Dick noticed, the mechanics of the dancers movements were something you never really see when they move in live motion.
The photos are not up to par because, I took my small camera. As it got darker, the camera could not keep up with the conditions.
We missed the jazz blues band at the Dutch bar because it actually started on time and ended before 11:00 p.m. . Now, I have to explain to our friend how unheard of that is in the States.
