Sevres Arch

LIZ SAYS: I never understood Sevres until I moved to Paris. My uncle in law is a great fan of Sevres. He is well known for his taste but I just could not understand the affection for Sevres pieces. When Dick and I saw the Serve instillation at the Museum of Design here, everything changed. It is some of the most fabulous ceramics ever made. Sevres, being one of the most renown institutions in France, naturally has a monument, not to mention a street named after them.
Okay so much for my personal history and ignorance.
This gorgeous tableau sits in a park, hardly noticed by the Parisiens, who are so overwhelmed with art, that it is just an aside. My favorite aspect is the little boys throwing a pot and the beautiful art nouveau-ish floral designs.
