LIZ SAYS:Today our friend, Adrian, took us to an Enchanting place. I have always like Jean Dubuffet as an artist. It wasn't until I came to Paris that I realized he had built an enchanted place outside of Paris. The Dubuffet Foundation has a location in Paris and you can go to a house in a regular street to see an abundance of his paintings and sculpture. It is one of those hidden courtyards, behind a gate, that you find in the city. I was astounded when I visited the Paris house. It was filled with the work of a busy mind and a beautiful hand.
We noticed there a pamphlet that led us to today's discovery.
If you have ever been to Gaudi's Parc Guell in Barcelona, you will know the feeling. Being surrounded by a vision writ large. It takes your breath away.
This was an installation from the ground up with a structure in the midst of it that housed an exquisite set of rooms. We were not allowed to photograph the inside of the building, but you can see it if you google the foundation.
