Liz saw a bona fide French star
DICK SAYS: Liz, Dick and a friend were waiting for a table at a local cafe the other day, when Liz noticed an older man with rather striking features look in her direction. Liz felt this silver-haired fellow was "somebody," and the fact that tell-tale white film trucks were in the square and thick, black electrical cable was strung all over the place helped support her notion that a little bit of glamor had come to the base of Rue Mouffetard. But who could it be? That slightly hangdog look, those sad, knowing eyes, that shock of sliver hair combed just so eventually gave him away. It was none other than Charles Aznavour, a star in anyone's book and one of the most expressive singers around. And he looked straight at Liz. Needless to say, our lunch tasted just fine. And, no, Dick doesn't have a clue about what he ordered.
