Bon Fetes!

LIZ SAYS:My Butcher is an Artist! Look at what he does. He makes the most gorgeous meat arrangements right in front of you. Everyone waits patiently while he picks, chops, slices and trims. He is a joy to watch and sometimes the line will be right out the door. You can wait for an hour just to get your order but he is fabulous to watch. He's very funny, even though I only understand about a third of what he says. He can tell what you are making by what you are ordering.
He is pretty camera shy. Everytime I try to take a picture, he hides.
All of these photos are meat and the black balls in one photo are fresh truffles! Yum!

Happy Happy Joy Joy!
I had a great time playing Santa today (Pere Noel) . We bought a couple of little splits of champagne and I wrapped them and left them for our trainers at the gym. Franke worked our butts off and then I hid the champagnes and left.
It was fun, it made me joyful thinking about when Franke found the present, how happy he would be. Tomorrow when
Francois comes to work, he will find his. So much fun. Adrian and Frederic are going to New York the day after Christmas. They are so excited, they are buying winter clothes. It is so funny. Adrian said he had everything but a bonnet and gloves. I just about died laughing. I told him whatever he did don't call it a bonnet in the US. Can you imagine? They were going to go bonnet shopping. He couldn't understand it. To him, a hat has a brim, a cap is like a baseball cap. LOL. Then I sang "In My Easter Bonnet with all the frills upon it, I'll be the grandest lady in the easter parade." and said, that is what bonnet means in the US.
We are going to have a nibbles and pink bubbles party the night before they go. Adrian loves pink champagne. And he wants me to make the foie gras wrapped in proscuitto. It is something most Americans wouldn't touch, but it is quite good, a tad rich. I serve it with fresh figs, which are also quite good. I'm not doing too much cooking.
We are going out on Christmas Day and New Year's Eve to eat at restaurants. Trying to make a fancy meal in this tiny place with the dorm fridge is a pain. boo hoo, hoo.
It has been snowing for a couple of hours for the past couple of days. Big fat soft snow drops that melt when they hit the ground. Its barely cold enough to freeze the snow and sometimes it turns to rain. But, the coffee is warm and strong.
I know its Christmas time where you are, too ;-}. Lots of cooking and running around, lots of love. Have a great Christmas and New Years! or the French version is Bon Fetes!
