beautiful and whacky on foot in Amsterdam1

LIZ SAYS: The first thing I noticed in Amsterdam was how beautiful the train station was. Amid the chaos of bikes, trams and traveller’s dragging their uncooperative luggage across the cobbles and tram tracks, there was the feeling of a really friendly place right out of the station. As we struggled to get our luggage to some corner with a street sign, it was obvious that once we got the luggage in the room, we’d be glancing up at the grand golden age of art deco/nouveau/jungenstil architecture. Not only that but each long, deep, narrow house was at least beautifully painted and cared for. Every tiny bit if dirt was crowned with blooming flowers.
This was going to be fun. It was sunny, a tad chilly and we were in a beautiful, new place. I just had to take my camera out and voila!

  1. I had to laugh ~ I misread the title of these Amsterdam entries, thinking that it said "Wild and wacky foot in Amsterdam", and I kept scrolling through the photos looking for the big foot! Hey, I'm doing pretty well for having a fuzzy flu-brain!!! Beautiful pictures!
