Down By the River
LIZ SAYS: After the Tour de France whisked by, we went down from the street through a little path that led to this sweet little park. Paris looks very different down by the river. The buildings have a unique perspective and the architecture is much more jewel-like and charming. The constant flow of boats full of tourists all photographing you (by chance) and your surroundings makes you feel special, just because you are on the quay. There are musicians, that can actually play, sitting amongst the dated sculpture and stepped semi-circles of concrete. The steps form a stage-like depression surrounded by informal lounging space. People were hanging around, watching the dancers samba, listening to the music, necking, chatting, reading. There is a playground with children creating their baby havoc and plantings of flowers to make the scene just too sweet for words.
