The Exquisite Parc Monsouris 2

LIZ SAYS: We bought bikes and Paris has once again shown herself in a new light. A brief ride on the bikes and we are in Parc Monsouris. A beautiful place to see water birds of all sorts: herons, swans both white and black, ducks of various sorts and coots. There were more birds, but Dick did not bring his book on Euro birds, so I can’t be very precise. Henry Miller, Paul Verlaine and his bud Rimbaud all frequented this place. Some of the streets and allees we crossed were named for the writers. We had a fab picnic lunch in the park which has a lagoon, cascade, rides and 2 places to eat, along with an observatory and weather station. But, the fabulous lagoon is the best. They also sell wine named after the park.
