Quai Branley Musee
LIZ SAYS: Since we thought couldn't ride our bikes as far as Quai Branley, I consented to go on the dreaded Metro once again, hellish hole that it is. It's the general principle of the Metro that I can't stand. I see no reason why one should Ever have to go underground to travel. But, that is neither here nor there. The Quai Branley Musee houses a absolutely huge amount of anthropological bric a brac. But the outside of the building is a treasure that constantly changes and grows. It would be a fairly familiar kind of 70's structure if it were not covered completely with living, growing plants. It has an informal tall grassy garden that surrounds it, it is cooler than outside the glass wall that surrounds it without being totally removed and cordoned off from the city streets. We ended up spending more time in the garden than inside the Musee. The Maya show that we had come to see was so oversold that when we saw the Line we decided to enjoy the sun instead.
