Ferry Rides to Bits Further out to Sea
LIZ SAYS: One of my favorite things to do in Amsterdam is to ride the ferries to any of their destinations. They are different parts of the city connected as if the center of the city were the water.
One area is all new housing. The style of architecture makes it look like the graphic novel version of a big working city form the days of old with names like Gotham. The buildings are sort of flattened out in a way, with uniform windows that remind me of a warehouse. Then, abruptly comes a collection of hospital scrub toned buildings that just seem ugly, uniform and ugly.
