LIZ SAYS: The Foam Photography museum is a favorite stop in Amsterdam. Now, in September, the museum is showcasing its alumni in hopes or thwarting limits to its funding.
Some highlights were:
Man and Dog by Paul Oltheten, a great vid illustrating the most motion sensing trained dog and his long posing director. It was impressive how focused the dog was on the ball. Even more impressive was how focused the viewer became. The tension between wanting to walk away and being afraid I would miss something made me all tingly with excitement. Cheap thrills!
Alex Prager’s Compulsion show was a little bit Hollywood. The woman’s eye, a mock disaster. Okay, got it.
