A Nightime Stroll in the 18th

LIZ SAYS: A couple of nights ago, we met 2 of our fabulous friends, Adrian and Frederick for dinner and a party where they would introduce us to a former Madisonian. We never made it to the party, it was over by the time we finished dinner.
The former Madisonian turned out to be someone who had gone to University in Madison. She and Dick discussed Italian language professors. They were a few years apart, but they both remembered the department.
Having completely missed the party, due to our tardiness (which was caused by a protest against the current Iranian government) we went for a stroll through the 18th arrondissement or neighborhood. It was very picturesquely Parisien with waiters dressed as turn of the century artists and artists offering to draw a portrait on several corners.
As we walked along, Frederick would bring up little historical tidbits. It was a wonderful night.
The photo is of a tribute to a famous writer who wrote of a man that could travel through walls but eventually got stuck. Although I did take this photo, we didn't want to disturb the people who lived in the courtyard, so I didn't trespass any further. Being cursed with a minuscule memory, I can't remember the writer's name, but its a beautiful tribute, nonetheless.
