more LOOKING AROUND AT CHRISTMASTIME

LIZ SAYS: I walked past the painter working on this in the rain about 3 days before Christmas. His painting on the restaurant window was hard work. I love his adorable escargot.

and here is the Place Maubert beggar outfitted for the season.

Look one way down toward the

Champs Elysee past the pink Mastercard banners to the Arc de Triomphe

about 4 blocks from us us a shop that sells mostly marshmallows, hand made hand cut and in gorgeous colors. Not being a fan, I can't imagine the flavors, but they do make a great display. They also have candied flower petals and other regional treats. Its a charming place.

Every Christmas, along with the decorations, there is the ferris wheel and the little village of white huts that sell everything from hot wine to hula dancing santas.
