more Goats!

LIZ SAYS: We had a great time last night watching a movie called Les Chevres Du Pentagon here which should be something like the Goats of the Pentagon or the Pentagon's Goats. I haven't laughed so much, so hard since Teddy saw the helicopter.
We met Debbie before the movie and she said Marc would be late. When Marc got to the theatre I called him Monsieur Plus Tard, which is Mr. Late, Debbie asked him if he minded being known as Mr. Late from now on, he replied "I love it", with a perfectly straight face. He's a pretty funny guy, we would say droll, but that's just French for joke or funny.
Dick and I laughed all through the movie, but I did notice that Marc, seated beside me was silent during most of the film. Marc is French and I wondered if he realized the anti-French jokes made by the military guys in the film were illustrating how stupid the guys in the movie were, not jokes directed at the French. But, he's a pretty clever guy and his English is very good. When we got outside, I asked both of them if they liked the movie, Debbie said it wasn't her sense of humor. The movie had been recommended to Marc by a friend who he said had "been reliable until now". Ouch! He said he noticed we were laughing all through the movie, but he was not moved. So, we walked to the restaurant and talked about humor.

Dick and Marc seemed to be getting on well.
I was in a great mood and he and Debbie took us to a nice restaurant which is their Fous. We have a restaurant that we like which is also a Fous. A fous is a fool, joker, crazy, nutty person. Evidently, it's not an insult but a jolly kind of expression. Anyway, their's is the Cafe de Fous, ours is the Fous d'Ile. We spent New Year's Eve there.
We had gone to see Ghostwriter with them a couple of weeks ago. Ghostwriter, the new Polanski film was okay, but dinner and a movie with Debbie and Marc is a blast, even if the movie is mediocre.
