Coup du Monde! Cup de money!

LIZ SAYS: Coup du Monde! Cup de money! France’s shame! Oh, it is horrible ‘for the children’, the government is making an inquiry into it. Ads were pulled and the cup has lost steam here. Now, when Algeria wins, the honking starts. But the real thriller here is the story about the multi-billionairess, the owner of L’Oreal. She is richer than god and in her 80’s. She has a younger boyfriend photographer who has been associated with other older rich women as well. He always ends up with more wealth and I don’t believe he bothers to marry. Her daughter claims that she is being bilked by the photographer. The news stories call him, “her personal photographer”. He has gotten around a billion euros in gifts and money from her. Her daughter says she is out of her mind. She and her friends say she sharp as a tack. Now, the boyfriend is in court and mom and daughter are trying to prove they are right. In the middle of all this, the daughter got an accomplice to film her mother in a huge tax avoidance scheme. Its a national sport in France and is utterly normal, but remember she has billions. Its beautifully complex and now includes Sarko’s friends. Last weekend we went to a party in the 12th arrondisment, the Oberkampf area. Two friends bought an apartment on two floors with a large terrace. The apartment is not huge and the terrace is great. We met several new people from Italy, France and Germany as well as a couple of Americans. It was a wonderful housewarming party. I took my Sonia Rykiel doll as a housewarming gift and I think they loved her. We also saw a great exhibition, thanks to Dick’s uncle, who reminded us that it was at the Decorative Arts museum. Les Lalanne are a couple who make beautiful surreal sculptures. I took a couple of photos from the catalog since I could not take photos inside. The whole floor of the museum was filled with greenery and walls were transformed to forests, it was glorious!
