Beauty and the Wacky!

Recently, we have visited 2 notable bits of art. The Rodin Garden is always a really nice walk. They always have cone shaped trees, and gorgeous roses. The entire garden is filled with Rodin's sculpture of course, but the setting is very calm, no matter how many people show up.
This time there was a fabulous sculpture of lacy rusted metal. Gorgeous far and near. It riffs off the Eiffel Tower, which peeks over the top of the garden from a distance and the gorgeous church dome of the Invalides.
Up close you can see the rust, far away, it looks black.
Then there was the wacky exhibition at the Cartier Foundation. One is not allowed to photograph the interior, but the building is all glass, so it is possible to get mediocre shots from the exterior.
The show was Japanese and it was a headlong dive into the over the top TV culture.
Upstairs were some fairly funny mock-ups for the Japanese military composed of animals and machines. These were theoretically found to be old plans from the past which no one acknowledges. This was the first time `i had ever noticed a Japanese person mentioning their military efforts in WW2.
Downstairs was dominated by the videos from Japanese game shows where they do things like stick everyone on a bus then put it underwater so we can see everyone freak out. I think it is supposed to be funny, I did not find it so humorous, but that is probably my short-coming. The best part was the Japanese snack shed, called Buddah Waffle, in the garden, full of colorful packets of incredible-looking sweets, which were all real food.
