Coot Fight okay, Moorhens
LIZ SAYS: I got this great shot. We love the Parc Montsouris. Not only is it near us, but it is absolutely beautiful. So, here we are, sitting in the park after our ride of the day, when two moorhens, although it sounds better to call them coots, had a fight. Right in front of me and my camera they are floating on their tail feathers and fighting with their feet. Evidently, the female was a point of contention. I had seen them send the ducks off with the threat of their pinching beaks, but I had never seen them face off with each other. No lagoon was big enough for them both as they squared off for the attention of the lone female in view. It was a fantastic row. Oh, boys!
